A Guide to Murcia

The more Murcia you see. The more Murcia you want.

Life in south-eastern Spain has long been relished by those from abroad. It has a laid back healthy lifestyle, beautiful beaches, rich cuisine, fascinating history, mountainous landscapes, an abundance of activities, wonderful wine and let's not forget the wonderful weather.

One of the only drawbacks has been its popularity – large expat communities have grown on the Costa Blanca (Torrevieja and Benidorm to name a couple) and have pushed out some of the local Spanish culture and flair. While familiar company is many people's cup of tea, some of you are looking for a genuine Spanish life in Spain. And that is where Murcia comes in.

Despite having all of the Costa Blanca's attributes, Murcia has largely and mysteriously passed under the radar of most foreigners. This means living here gives you the chance to have a true taste of Spain. Enjoy the food, learn to speak the language, explore mountain villages or simply float in Europe's largest (and perhaps most sublime) saltwater lagoon.

If a Spanish life and 315 days of sun a year sounds heavenly to you, or if you rightly realise Murcia is ripe for an investment opportunity, peruse our featured properties.

  • Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Mark Twain
